About this event
The idea is simple – Spencer is going for a fun run and would love to bring along other folks and show them some lovely roads. He’s planning on leaving around 10:30 in the morning which should offer plenty of time for folks to get up, have breakfast, and make the trek to Sandy. The parking lot in Sandy is a good place to meet up, and there’s a tasty coffee shop right there as well as a Chevron across the street. From Sandy, the route goes over the “Devil’s backbone” side roads up to around Rhododendron before meeting up with Highway 26. The route from there is 26 to 35 before detouring over on Cooper’s Spur before descending down into Parkdale and taking the Dee Highway to WAAAM .
If folks don’t wish to view the world famous Western Antique Aeroplane and Automobile Museum (WAAAM) , they can head down to the river front to the Hood River Harvest Festival complete with a farmer’s market art vendors and food carts. Of course there is also the famous Hood River Fruit Loop tour.
