Members Scott and Tia Adams have stepped forward to lead us east up the Gorge on Highway 14 to Maryhill Museum to what has become a club favorite early fall event. Why a favorite??
First, the run in what is usually very fine weather - late summer/early fall; on scenic Lewis & Clark Hwy 14 through the Columbia River Gorge. A road with lots of curves, tunnels and great vistas.
Second, the
"Concours de Maryhill" has been in years past a great show including a little bit of everything automotive.
Third, in the afternoon, the Maryhill Loops Road is open. This road was one of the first hard paved roads in the northwest commissioned by Sam Hill (builder of Maryhill Mansion - later Museum). This road is also the site of a famous hill climb race and is only open to the public to drive the 8 hairpin curves twice a year.
There is also an alternate return home to Portland/Vancouver area via Klickitat Canyon (not part of the run, but nice!)
Saturday, October 3 - Meet at Camas Safeway at 9:00 and leave at 9:30 am.
