What: Dufur Threshing Bee

When: Sunday, August 9 – Meet at 9:30 am – Leave at 10:00 am

Join us for a leisurely Sunday drive to a threshing bee. Never been to a threshing bee you say …. Well this is your chance. Dufur is having their 46th annual threshing bee and you are invited. This will be your chance to see old-time harvesting equipment in operation. This includes both horse-drawn threshers and steam powered wheat separators. Go out in the field with the equipment and see it in use. There will also be a car show.  All events are free. There is also a pioneer museum and old town Dufur to explore.

Of course nothing is better than caravanning with a great bunch of fellow car enthusiasts and the chance to experience some new roads. We will also be checking out Hot Lava runs.

We will be meeting at 9:30 and starting at 10:00 am from the Chevron Station parking lot located at 31251 SE US 26, Boring (SE corner of intersection of Mt Hood Hwy 26 and Hwy 212, 1.5 miles east of Boring aka Ashley's Corner). We will be traveling along the Mt Hood Highway through Government Camp to Hwy 35, north on Hwy 35 to Forest Rd 44 (Camp Baldwin/Dufur Rd) on to Dufur and the threshing bee. We will spend 1 to 2 hours at the threshing bee and then head south through the Tygh Valley and back through Government Camp on our return home. Total round trip distance for this run is approximately 174 miles.
