Come and join us as we tour the long awaited and newly opened World of Speed!

Please RSVP by May 7th so we can inform the restaurant

We will start the day with a run of some of our favorite, scenic, and fun roads, then have lunch at Wanker’s Corner Saloon and Café in Wilsonville. After lunch we will head over to our main event of the day, the World of Speed.  We have our tour scheduled for 1:15 PM. If you cannot make it for the run, you are welcome to join us at 1:15 for the tour, but please let us know it is for the tour only.

What is World of Speed?
It is a place where there is something for everyone, no racing license required. Exhibits such as the Wall of Sound celebrating the American love of cars and music. On display are guitars and auto related records, as well as radios, in car record players, tape decks and CD players, most of which are interactive. There are lots of cars to see from funny cars, drag racing cars, to Daytona cars, I read they had 100 different cars to see. There are race car simulators (1962 Lotus Formula, 1995 Indy Car, and 1998 Ford Taurus NASCAR that are $10 for a 12 minute time slot), a motorcycle display, and other hands on interactive displays.  Another exhibit is about the history of the land speed record called Zero to 1000 MPH. There is a banked section of what the Daytona track is at 18 and 33 degrees featuring 4 Daytona cars. This is also an educational facility, to inspire our younger generation to work in the automotive field, anything from engineering, being a mechanic, tightening lug nuts, to being PR for racing teams. There are not many places anymore to get automotive training, so they are trying to help fill the gap. For more information:
